中圣zhòng shèng: zhòng shèng: to be drunk. In the Three Kingdoms era, Cao Cao banned wine, so people secretly called clear wine "the sage" and cloudy wine "the worthy". How to read it读音

中zhòng: Read zhòng, meaning to be hit by, as in being poisoned. It is not zhōng.读 zhòng，“中圣”的“中”是“中了、被……击中”的意思，比如“中毒”。不读 zhōng。

Background创作背景

Meng Haoran was twelve years older than Li Bai and a famous poet of the time. He never held office and spent most of his life as a hermit on Mount Lumen near his home town, Xiangyang. When Li Bai was young he travelled around Hubei, met Meng Haoran and admired him greatly. This poem is Li Bai's praise of him. The date is debated; one view is that it was written around 739, when Li Bai visited Meng Haoran in Xiangyang.

孟浩然比李白大十二岁，是当时很有名的诗人，一生没有做官，大部分时间隐居在家乡襄阳的鹿门山。李白年轻时在湖北一带漫游，结识了孟浩然，非常敬佩他。这首诗就是李白写给孟浩然的赞美诗。具体写作时间说法不一，一说写于开元二十七年（739年）前后，李白在襄阳拜访孟浩然的时候。

The poet作者

Li Bai (701–762) was a great Tang poet, called the Immortal of Poetry. He was bold and free, loved wine and mountains, and looked down on the powerful. He seldom said "I love" someone so plainly, which shows how much he admired Meng Haoran. He also wrote the famous farewell poem "Seeing Meng Haoran Off to Guangling at Yellow Crane Tower".

李白（701—762），唐代大诗人，被称为“诗仙”。他性格豪放，爱喝酒，爱山水，也看不起权贵。他很少这样直接地说“我爱”谁，可见他是真心佩服孟浩然。他还写过送孟浩然的名篇《黄鹤楼送孟浩然之广陵》。

The mood意境

The first line, "I love Master Meng", sounds like something you would shout to a friend: warm and honest. Then Li Bai tells Meng Haoran's life like a story. When young, he turned down office. When old, he lay among pines and clouds. He drank until drunk under the moon and lost himself among flowers, but would not work for the emperor. This was the very life Li Bai himself dreamed of. At the end he says Meng's character is a mountain so high you cannot see the top, so all he can do is bow from here. It begins with "I love" and ends with a bow, full of admiration for a friend.

第一句就是“吾爱孟夫子”，像朋友之间直接喊出来的话，热情又真诚。接着李白像讲故事一样，把孟浩然的一生说给我们听：年轻时不要官位，老了躺在松树白云里；喝酒喝到醉，看花看到迷，就是不去给皇帝做事。这些正是李白自己也向往的生活。最后他说，孟浩然的品格像一座高山，高得仰望不到顶，我只能在这里向他鞠个躬。从“我爱”开始，到“我拜”结束，满满都是对朋友的敬佩。
