How to read it读音

著zhuó: Here it means to rest on, to gather at, so it is read zhuó.“著”在这里是附着、聚在的意思，读 zhuó，同“着（zhuó）”。
厌yān: Here the doubled word means the same as yān yān, listless and drowsy, so it is read yān, not yàn.“厌厌”同“恹恹”，是没精神的样子，读 yān yān，不读 yàn。

Background创作背景

This lyric is about missing a loved one far away in early spring. Exactly when it was written, and for whom, is no longer known. The first stanza starts with the willows and the wind and rain in front of him. Then he asks the swallows whether they saw her, and imagines that she too is lonely and missing him. The second stanza shows his own sorrow: frowning, tears, long spring days. He can only lean on his pillow and listen to the birds as another day slips by.

这首词写早春时节对远方心上人的思念，具体写作时间和对象已经不清楚。上片从眼前的柳树、风雨写起，再问燕子有没有见到她，猜想她也在孤单地想念自己。下片写自己愁得皱眉流泪，春日漫长，只能靠着枕头听鸟叫，一天又过去了。

The poet作者

Yuan Quhua was a Southern Song poet from Fengxin, in today's Jiangxi. His dates of birth and death are not known. He passed the top imperial exam under Emperor Gaozong and served as a minor local official. Not many of his lyrics survive. They are clear, graceful and gentle, good at setting scenes and showing feelings, and several were chosen for the famous collection Three Hundred Song Lyrics.

袁去华，字宣卿，南宋词人，奉新（今属江西）人，生卒年不详。他在宋高宗绍兴年间考中进士，做过地方小官。他的词留下来的不算多，风格清丽婉转，善于写景抒情，《宋词三百首》选了他好几首。

The mood意境

This lyric is about a longing that cannot be said aloud. It opens with beauty: a thousand willow threads and tender yellow buds. But the spring cold is still here and a storm has just passed, so the beauty feels chilly. Then, instead of saying "I miss her", he asks the swallows: you flew past her house, did you see her? Of course there is no answer, but the question makes his longing sweet. He even imagines her side: she must keep her window shut, and her zither gathers dust because she has no heart to play. The second stanza returns to him. Sorrow gathers at his brow, and he sends his tears down the river flowing east. The last picture is very still. He leans on his pillow, the orioles keep singing, and when he wakes the sunset still lights the flowers. Time seems to stop, and only the longing goes on.
