还hái: Here it means "still, yet" and is read hái. One view reads it huán, meaning "reflected back".这里是“仍然、却”的意思，读 hái。一说读 huán，意思是“照回来”。

Background创作背景

We do not know when this lyric was written. It is a lyric of a woman's longing. In late spring a woman is alone in the garden. Flowers fall, butterflies flutter, and she misses someone far away so much that she has grown thin. The speaker is not the poet himself; men poets of old often wrote of parting and longing in a woman's voice.

这首词写的时间不清楚。它是一首写闺中思念的词：暮春时节，一位女子独自在园中，花落了，蝴蝶乱飞，她想念远方的人，整天相思，人都瘦了。词中的“我”不一定是作者本人，古代男诗人常常借女子的口吻写离别和思念。

The poet作者

Yan Ren, also called Qiaoxi, came from Shaowu, in today's Fujian, in the Southern Song. His dates are not known. He and his kinsmen Yan Yu and Yan Can were all known for poetry and were called the Three Yans of Shaowu. Few of his lyrics survive. Their style is fresh and graceful, good at small scenes and a woman's inner feelings.

严仁，字次山，号樵溪，南宋邵武（今属福建）人，生卒年不详。他和同族的严羽、严参都有诗名，被称为“邵武三严”。他的词流传下来的不多，风格清新婉丽，善于写细小的景物和女子的心事。

The mood意境

The first half paints the garden. The spring wind reaches only the west side, where flowers bloom and butterflies dance. But the pond reflects nothing, and the petals on the path are all blown away. The liveliness is somewhere else; beside her it is empty. The second half turns to her. Her love is so long and the floating threads so short, so she blames the threads for not tying him down, a charming thought. She misses him all day and her sash grows loose. The last two lines are the best. The mirror does not lie: when you come back, see for yourself how thin I have become. Half playful, half scolding, she makes deep longing sound lively and touching.
