The commonly taught text has zhǐ yuán, only because, in line four, and biàn chā shū lí, then putting up a thin fence, in line six. The source text writes the first of these with an old character of the same meaning, uses shǐ, to make, in place of biàn, and writes the word for thin in a variant form.
