How to read it读音

数shù: In shù zhī (several sprigs) the character is read shù. Read shǔ, it means to count.“数枝”是几枝的意思，“数”读 shù。读 shǔ 时是“数一数”。
重chóng: In chóng dié (layer upon layer) the character is read chóng.“重叠”的“重”读 chóng，是一层又一层的意思。

Background创作背景

We do not know exactly when this ci was written. The poet was far from home. In early spring he saw the cold water, the plum blossoms and the layers of green hills, and thought of the one he loved at home. The first stanza shows early spring in a strange place and the pain of parting. The second imagines her at home missing him and growing thin. At the end he says he will save all his loneliness to tell her when he gets back. Some readers think the sorrow also hides worry about the troubled country.

这首词写作的具体时间不清楚。作者在外地漂泊，早春时节看见寒水、梅花和重重青山，想起远在家中的心上人，写下了这首词。上阕写他乡早春的景色和离愁，下阕设想对方在家里思念自己，日渐消瘦，最后说要把满心的凄凉留到回家时慢慢说。一说词中的离愁还带着对国事的忧虑。

The poet作者

Zhang Yuangan (born 1091; the year of his death is uncertain) lived as the Northern Song gave way to the Southern Song. His early ci are graceful and gentle. After the north fell he strongly urged resistance against the Jin. He wrote a farewell ci for Hu Quan, an official punished for opposing peace with the Jin, and lost his own official rank for it. His later ci are bold and stirring, and he is seen as an early patriotic ci poet.

张元干（1091—？），字仲宗，号芦川居士，两宋之交的词人。他早年的词写得清丽婉转。北宋灭亡后，他坚决主张抗金，曾写词送别被贬的抗金大臣胡铨，因此被朝廷除名。他后期的词多慷慨激昂，是南宋爱国词人的先驱之一。

The mood意境

The opening paints early spring with care. The water still keeps to its old line, so the ice has only just melted. Mist lies over the sandbank. A few plum sprigs rush to bloom in the cold wind. The scene is new, but the feeling is old. Seeing hill after hill beyond the farewell pavilion, green without end, his sorrow rises. The most touching word in the second stanza is 'I picture'. He does not say how much he misses her. He imagines her in the painted house missing him, growing thin. At the end he saves everything he wants to say until he gets home, like letters kept in a drawer, to be read out line by line when they meet. Then he counts: by then they will have been apart a whole year. Hope and heartache mix, and it feels very real.

开头写早春很细：水还贴着旧水痕，说明冰雪刚化；沙滩上烟雾一片；几枝梅花在冷风里抢着开。景色是新的，心情却是旧的，看到长亭外一层层的山，满眼青色望不到头，愁就跟着涌上来。下阕最动人的是“想见”：他不写自己多想她，而是想象她在画楼里也想着他，人都瘦了。最后他把满肚子的话“殷勤留与归时说”，好像存起来的信，要等见面时一句句讲。可结尾一算，见面时已经分别一整年了。期待里带着心酸，读来很真切。
