How to read it读音

朝cháo: In cháo tiān, to go and see the emperor, this character is read cháo.“朝天”是朝见皇帝，“朝”读 cháo。
教jiào: Here this character means to let or have someone do. Textbooks usually read it jiào in this sense. Some read it jiāo.“教”在这里是让、使的意思，现在课本里这种用法一般读 jiào（如“不教胡马度阴山”）。也有人读 jiāo。
泥nì: In nì jiǔ, to be hooked on wine, this character is read nì, meaning to cling to.“泥酒”是贪酒、离不开酒，“泥”读 nì，是缠住、沉迷的意思。

Background创作背景

In 1172, under Emperor Xiaozong, Xin Qiji was the governor of Chuzhou, in today's Anhui. The word cui in the title means a deputy governor. This deputy, surnamed Fan (usually thought to be Fan Ang), had finished his term and was leaving, around the time of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Xin wrote this ci to see him off. He wishes Fan a great welcome at court, and also lets out his own frustration: he wants to serve his country but gets no chance.

宋孝宗乾道八年（1172年），辛弃疾在滁州（今安徽滁州）做知州，也就是一州的长官。“倅”是通判，知州的副手。这位姓范的通判（一般认为是范昂）任满要离开，正赶上中秋前后，辛弃疾写了这首词给他送行。词里一面祝他回朝受到重用，一面也说出自己想为国家出力却没有机会的苦闷。

The poet作者

Xin Qiji (1140–1207) came from Licheng, today's Jinan in Shandong. When he was born, the north was already ruled by the Jin. In his twenties he led an uprising against them and then came south to the Song. His great dream was to win back the north, but he was usually sent to govern local towns instead of going to war. His ci are bold and strong, and often sad that his great plans never came true.

辛弃疾（1140—1207），字幼安，号稼轩，历城（今山东济南）人。他出生时北方已被金国占领，二十多岁就带兵起义，后来回到南宋。他一生最大的心愿是收复北方，却常常被派去做地方官，不能上战场。他的词豪迈有力，也常带着壮志难酬的悲凉。

The mood意境

He begins: as I grow old, my zest for life fades, and facing the farewell wine, I fear how fast time flies. It is the Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon is perfectly round, yet people must part. The heartless river only joins the west wind to send the homebound boat away. Then he imagines his friend's warm homecoming: water shield soup and perch on the river in autumn, and family gathered by the lamp at night. The second stanza turns to encouragement. Put on your travelling clothes and go to the emperor; the court is looking for able men. Perhaps you will be kept late at night to draft decrees, or sent to plan the border defence. Last, he asks his friend to carry a message to old friends in the capital: tell them I am the same as ever, fond of wine. Watching geese in the autumn sky, when drunk, he can only twang an empty bowstring. This last line shows a hero with no battle to fight, and it hits hard.
