The corpus text reads "shí jiàn yōu rén dú wǎng lái" (at times one sees the lonely man come and go) in line three, and "fēng luò wú jiāng lěng" (maple leaves fall, the Wu River is cold) as the last line. Today's textbooks and standard editions read "shuí jiàn yōu rén dú wǎng lái" (who sees the lonely man come and go) and "jì mò shā zhōu lěng" (the lonely sandbar is cold). The line about maple leaves was first written by the Tang poet Cui Xinming, and some editions put it here.
