How to read it读音

缥piǎo: In the word for "misty, faint" this character is read piāo. Here it means pale blue-white and is read piǎo.“缥”在“缥缈”里读 piāo；这里指青白色，读 piǎo。“缥瓦”是青白色的琉璃瓦。
衩chà: This character means the slit at the side of a garment and is read chà. It rhymes with the other line endings here.“衩”指衣服下边开口的地方，读 chà。这里也和“瓦、洒、下、马”等押韵。
模mú: In "mú yàng" (looks, appearance) the character is read mú.“模样”的“模”读 mú。

Background创作背景

We do not know when this lyric was written. It is usually read this way: the poet comes back to the capital to look for a singing girl he once loved, and learns that she has died of longing for him. The first stanza imagines how she wasted away after he left. The second stanza remembers the past and tells of his return. At the end, the story of Cui Hui shows how much he misses her.

这首词的写作时间不清楚。一般理解为：词人重回京城，去找从前相爱的一位歌女，却得知她因为思念他，已经病死了。上片想象她在他走后憔悴的样子，下片写回忆和重访，最后用崔徽的故事，表达对她的怀念。

The poet作者

Shi Dazu, courtesy name Bangqing, pen name Meixi, came from Bian (today's Kaifeng in Henan). He was a Southern Song lyric poet, and his dates are unknown. He worked as a clerk for the chief minister Han Tuozhou, and when Han fell, he was punished too. He was best at lyrics about objects; his lyric on a pair of swallows is famous. His style is delicate and finely crafted.

史达祖，字邦卿，号梅溪，汴（今河南开封）人，南宋词人，生卒年不详。他曾在宰相韩侂胄手下做文书，韩侂胄失败后，他也受到处罚。他最擅长写咏物词，《双双燕·咏燕》很有名。他的词细腻工巧。

The mood意境

In the first stanza the poet is imagining her. Willow fluff flies in the sunshine. Her se is covered in dust, its strings slack, because she has no heart to play. She is too tired to go out, yet in her dreams she always sees him riding home. She will not say she misses him. But when she smooths her skirt, she finds she has grown thin. One small detail tells all her longing. The second stanza returns to the poet. He remembers a night in the south tower, when she leaned on his shoulder and sang by lamplight, such a warm moment. But when he comes back to the capital and searches the lanes where she lived, he learns that she has faded away with the spring flowers. At the end he says he will hold on to her face and paint it in secret at home, like the story of Cui Hui. From imagining, to remembering, to the sad news, the feeling grows deeper at every step.
